There is no doubt that Mick's Bakehouse has been the most dominant competitor in Australia's two most prestigious bakery competitions, "The Great Aussie Pie Competition" and the "Sydney Royal Fine Food Show".
The company's many awards include four times winner of Australia's "Best Gourmet Pie", five times winner of the Sydney Royal "Champion Gourmet Pie" and three times winner of the Sydney Royal "Champion Pie". At both of these competitions, it has won the most gold medals awarded, claiming over 100 from the Great Aussie Competition and 32 from 35 in the history of the Sydney Royal. It has also won the inaugural Great Aussie Pastie Competition.
Both Wagga & Leeton stores have also been privileged enough to win NSW Bakery/Cafe Of The Year in consecutive years (2002/2003 & 2004/2005).

The awards won by Mick’s Bakehouse over the years literally number in the thousands.
Listed on this page is a small selection of some of the awards Mick's Bakehouse have won in recent years.
Because of his success at the national competitions and in recognition of his standing in the industry Michael Di Salvatore was invited to be an honorary national pie judge for the ‘Great Aussie Pie Competition’.
Michael has also served the industry as a representative for the Baking Industry Association in NSW, and was nominated for ‘Outstanding Achievement’ in the ‘Young Australian of the Year Awards’ in 2000.
