Mick's Bakehouse; established in 1990, has grown to become one of the most recognised baking brands throughout the Australian baking industry.
What started out to be a small bread shop; inside his parents' supermarket in Leeton, has grown to become one of the Riverina's most recognised businesses. Business proprietor, Michael Di Salvatore started baking at age fourteen and at the age of eighteen, launched Mick's Bakehouse and has gone on to win numerous prestigious awards and earn the accolades of his industry peers, including being nominated for the Young Australian Of The Year Award, in which he was a finalist in 2000.
The business, whilst well known for its pies, also produces a large range of quality bread, cake and pastry lines and gelati at its Wagga bakery. This range includes:
In 1995, a second outlet was established in the main street of Leeton and in 1999, a purpose built bakery/cafe was opened, just up the road, at 56 Pine Avenue, Leeton. As the business' retail base continued to flourish, so did the wholesale operations. In 2002, Mick's Bakehouse Wagga was established at 67 Baylis Street and from this site, we now service the Riverina region, Canberra and is successfully growing its customer base in Sydney. The versatility of our range allows us to cater for many different customers, from the corner cafe to five star hotels. The business has also undergone HACCP Food Safety Accreditation.
